Established in 1986, our origins were a simple line of dried herbs, spices, and potpourri supplies that were sold out of a farm house. In 1999, The Herb Merchant achieved Inc. status and acquired the Susquehanna Spice Company, a local company offering a line of premier, all-natural seasoning blends. These spices remain available through this website.
The Herb Merchant is currently an "Internet Only" business, having closed our retail store in 2003 after 18 years of being in business. This move has allowed us to reduce our overhead and offer our products at the least cost to our customers, while maintaining our excellent standard of service.
We ship world-wide to a variety of customers, many of whom were once stationed at the Army War College here in Carlisle. Thank you for your patronage.

How soon are orders shipped?
Generally, we ship your orders within 24 hours, provided the item(s) are in stock.
How are products shipped?
We ship using various methods (including UPS and USPS) to ensure your order reaches you in a timely manner. There is a minimum shipping and handling charge of $5.50 per order (see Shipping Rates).
Do you sell wholesale?
Not at the moment; we handle retail sales only.
What is your return policy?
If, for some reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase from The Herb Merchant, we will gladly accept your return and issue you a store credit to be applied against a future purchase, or exchange the item with another item of like value. Customers are responsible for the cost of shipping the order back to us, as well as the shipping of any replacement items.
